Prior to his current role, Pires held Excellence and Innovation leadership positions in large, global companies in the electronics (Sony), semiconductor (Cymer-ASML), food (Nestlé) and infrastructure (Black & Veatch) industries. Throughout his career, Pires developed and refined E&I as an award winning program for innovation, leadership development, strategy execution and value creation globally.
Pires is an advisory board leader and keynote speaker for several global conferences on innovation, operational excellence, leadership development, strategy execution, business transformation, customer engagement and growth acceleration.
He holds a Bachelor in Engineering Physics from the University of Kansas and a Master in Business Administration focused in Investment Banking and Entrepreneurship from the University of San Diego.

Sandra Lechiaro is a Business Transformation Manager, a key leadership role responsible for introducing enterprise transformation at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, with the recent creation of a Business Transformation Office. In this new capability, Sandra is bringing leadership to strategic projects that have an enterprise impact, by improving efficiencies and effectiveness of people, process and technology, that close capability gaps, minimizing operational risk and empowering the Laboratory’s “business of research”.
Sandra has spent most of her career at the Laboratory, in various key leadership roles in Business Operations and Contract Management, with her most recent role in Financial Operations focusing on business process improvement. She co-leads an Enterprise Applications Governance Board which brings strategic prioritization to IT investments, and a roadmap for long-term initiatives. With a deep understanding of the Laboratory’s unique culture, she is effective in building partnerships and cross-cutting teams across the organization to foster change management activities to minimize impacts and improve adoption.
Sandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Food Marketing from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and her MBA with a concentration in Management of Information Sciences from Western New England University. She also earned Certificate from MIT’s Leader to Leader program, and a Certificate in Government Contract Management and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.
Dr. Keith A. Clinkscale is a recognized Lean Six Sigma Black Belt & Operational Excellence Executive known for establishing best-in-class strategic performance management programs. Keith Clinkscale demonstrates a combination of broad industry experiences, performance management acumen and a history of results-oriented management consulting to drive significant improvement and cost savings. As a seasoned Industry Executive and Management Consultant, Keith built a reputation of excellence in all areas of operations.
His skillset includes over 30 years of Executive Coaching, Training and Content Design, Process Improvement, Benchmarking, Total Quality Management, Balanced Scorecards, Business Process Re-engineering, Strategic Planning, and High Performance Teams. Keith’s experience and sensitivity to customer concerns has always enabled him to provide a high level of service, whether in industry or as a consultant. Keith has headed the Performance Management Office at Palm Tran. Keith’s team provided executive coaching, goal and target setting through benchmarking, established and reported balanced scorecards, developed department scorecards and held department directors accountable for addressing deficiencies. Dr. Clinkscale has been the champion of Performance Reporting, Management and Improvement at Palm Tran.
Keith has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and a PH.D in Strategic Leadership from Concordia College & University. He is now the Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Management for Palm Beach County and supervises all activities related to the long-term strategic plan of Palm Beach County as well as the strategic planning of over 30 county departments. Keith is responsible for assisting the Board of County Commissioners (BCC), Executive Team, Department Directors, and staff with the development of long-term goals, objectives, strategies, and actions.
Scott Whitmire is a senior enterprise architect with over 40 years of system architecture and development experience, including a number of major applications. He has designed and built large applications for several industries, including healthcare, research, aerospace, manufacturing, professional practice management, financial services, wholesale, retail, and telecommunications.
Mr. Whitmire serves on the Boards of Directors for the Association of Business Process Management Professionals International (ABPMP International) and Iasa Global, the association for IT architects. He is an industry thought leader on the practice of business architecture with expertise in troubleshooting and measurement, and has developed both full courses and multiple parts of multiple bodies of knowledge.
Mr. Whitmire is a Senior Member of the IEEE, an Iasa Fellow, and holds the CITA-P and CITA-D certifications. He has mentored many architects and engineers. He has published one book (so far), "Object Oriented Design Measurement," as well as numerous papers, articles, and presentations. He is a frequent speaker at business and IT architecture events. Dr. Kirchmer is an experienced practitioner and thought leader in the field of Digital Transformation and Business Process Management (BPM). He co-founded BPM-D, a consulting company focusing on digital process transformation, operational excellence and customer experience by leveraging the discipline of BPM. Before he was Managing Director and Global Lead of BPM at Accenture, and CEO of the Americas and Japan of IDS Scheer, known for its ARIS Process Software.
Dr. Kirchmer has led numerous transformation and process improvement initiatives and has worked with hundreds of clients in technology, financial, health, consumer goods and manufacturing industries. He has published 11 books and over 150 articles. He is affiliated faculty at the University of Pennsylvania and received a research and teaching fellowship from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
Shelli Brunswick, COO of Space Foundation, brings a broad perspective and deep vision of the global space ecosystem — from a distinguished career as a space acquisition and program management leader and Congressional Liaison for the US Air Force — to her current role, including overseeing Center for Innovation and Education, Symposium 365 and Global Alliance. Advocating for space technology innovation, entrepreneurship, diversity and inclusion, Shelli collaborates with organizations around the world to connect government, commercial and educational sectors.

Krishna Prasad Seshagiri Rao is a senior director of platform engineering of Bengaluru-based Target in India, an extension of the U.S. retailer Target’s headquarters operations.
In this role, Krishna leads platform engineering, one of the pillars of the data sciences team. The team is responsible for managing Hadoop infrastructure, Teradata systems, the MicroStrategy reporting platform and in-house built platform products to support enterprise reporting, datac ollection, data search and A/B testing.
Under his leadership the platform engineering team completed the journey to modernize DataStore platforms that enabled the shift from traditional data warehouse platforms to open source data store platforms. The team also played a crucial role in conceiving and implementing productideas to eliminate dependency on expensive third party reporting, data collection and A/B testing tools.
Krishna joined Target 12 years ago and has worked in many leadership roles with expertise in the merchandise space planning and supply chain domains. He excels in managing complex and large enterprise Business Intelligence platforms and building high performing teams with a strong agile culture, focused on product and design thinking in a matrixed global organization.
Krishna received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from P.S.G. College of Technology, Tamil Nadu. He is also a certified software quality analyst and a sun certified Java developer. Krishna is married and lives in Bangalore with his wife and two children. When not at work, he enjoys long distance running and has completed seven full marathons including two world majors(Chicago 2016, New York 2017).
Peter Carr supports organisations’ transformation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He is a lecturer in the Department of Management Sciences, in the Faculty of Engineering in Canada’s University of Waterloo, where he is focussed on implementation of innovation, entrepreneurship and digital transformation in established businesses.
Peter has a wide range of industrial experience, working with organisations in many sectors, both public and private. His PhD, from the UK’s Cranfield University, focused on the implementation of lean manufacturing. He has a Masters degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and a Bachelors degree in Economics. Prior to joining the University of Waterloo, Peter led the world’s first online Executive MBA programme at Athabasca University in Alberta.

William J. Maples, M.D. - Dr. Maples is the founder, president, and chief executive officer of the Institute for Healthcare Excellence, a national organization supporting care redesign and cultural transformation in delivery systems across the United States.
Dr. Maples earned his undergraduate, Masters in Oncology, and medical degrees at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He completed his residency and fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Maples practiced Medical Oncology for 25 years at Mayo Clinic and helped lead the Mayo Clinic quality, safety, and experience journey.
He then served as Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer at Mission Health in Asheville, North Carolina where he helped Mission Health navigate cultural transformation and become a leading healthcare organization recognized for its impeccable quality and safety. Dr. Maples more recently served as Chief Medical Officer of Professional Research Consultants, Inc. Dr. Maples is an Associate Professor Emeritus of Oncology at the Mayo College of Medicine and a Clinical Professor at Brooks College of Health at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
Jennifer is a fierce advocate for connecting things, concepts and people, seen and unseen, that positively move the patient experience forward. Before joining The Institute for Healthcare Excellence in 2016, her obsession with the voice of the patient and family helped several health systems in Minnesota achieve and sustain remarkable patient experience performance. Jennifer also worked to help organizations generate revenue, inspire engagement and drive positivechange.
Jennifer, often described as a social chemist, believes that kindness and thoughtfulness is a key ingredient for creating meaningful relationships while still being focused on generating growth and loyalty for the organization. Her ability to lead, inspire, manage and mentor employees, providers and community made her a perfect fit for Chief Experience Officer at the Institute for Healthcare Excellence.
